Use default policy links provided by Shopify template to view PDF in new tab

Hello everyone, the following question / request:

Theme: Taste

  • Goal: Within the template, Shopify’s default policies can be selected via a checkbox and then displayed within the footer. Instead of opening Shopify’s default guidelines pages, I want to link to a personal .PDF document, located in Shopify’s file directory.

  • Delimitation: I don’t want to create a footer navigation menu via the “Navigation” function, but instead use the checkbox activation function in the template, as this is simpler design-wise.

Is this possible? I’ve played around a bit but haven’t found a solution.
