Central issue: connecting a supplier’s XML feed to Shopify to import/sync products and keep inventory up to date.
Built‑in method: Shopify natively imports products via CSV (structured spreadsheet file). To use XML directly, third‑party apps are needed.
Suggested solutions for XML import and inventory sync:
Stock Sync and Syncee: import XML, bulk editing, ongoing sync.
StockKeeper: initial upload plus automated price/quantity updates; rules and filters for include/exclude.
Stockeo: import/update products from an XML feed.
Marketing/export feeds: “Shopify Product‑Feed – Facebook Google” produces an XML feed from your store for ad platforms (Facebook, Google, Instagram, Pinterest). It is not primarily for importing supplier XML; the same poster advised CSV for supplier imports. Several help links and videos are provided for advertising setup.
Latest update: A user having issues with Stockeo and multiple distributor XML links received an alternative—Product XML Import by ProXI. It auto‑detects XML structure with AI (no manual mapping), supports up to 8 feeds, and can schedule automatic syncs. The developer offers setup support.
Status: No single consensus; thread remains open with multiple app options and guidance.
I am new to Shopify and have been working with the platform for a little under a month. I like what’s available regarding apps, themes, and ease of getting things done quickly and correctly. However, I do have a question when it comes to stocking my store. My provider will be giving me an XML feed to keep the inventory fresh and up to date. Is there a way to take this XML feed and use it to link and sync products to my store?

@Michael_Robins1Product XML Import By ProXI can do this - just provide your XML feed URL and it auto-detects the structure using AI, no manual field mapping needed. You can schedule automatic syncs to keep inventory fresh.
@nonesuch The app supports up to 8 different XML feeds - you can add all three links from your distributor and sync them separately.
I’m the developer, feel free to reach out if you need help with setup.
