Using DSers or similar

Hi All.

has anyone used DSers or similar for automated orders? The one thing that puts me off using international suppliers are the tax implications incurred. Currently I only sell in the U.K. to make it easier to manage. I can see the potential going international. I wondered am I stifling potential sales by just limiting to U.K. suppliers. https://www.cushionsplusuk.com My website. Any device appreciated.

Hi @Markssxx

I see where you’re coming from—you’re managing taxes by keeping everything within the U.K., but at the same time, you’re wondering if you’re limiting your store’s growth by not going international. That’s a valid concern, and I’ll break it down for you.

Using DSers or Similar for Automated Orders

Yes, DSers is one of the most popular dropshipping tools, especially for automating order fulfillment with AliExpress. It helps by:

  • Auto-syncing orders from your Shopify store to suppliers
  • Processing bulk orders in one click
  • Tracking shipments directly within the app

If you’re considering expanding internationally, DSers can streamline the process. However, there are a few things you need to consider, especially when it comes to taxes and supplier selection.

Tax Implications of International Suppliers

Since you’re only selling in the U.K., you don’t have to worry about VAT compliance in other countries right now. But if you expand, things change:

  • If you sell to the EU, you may need to register for the IOSS (Import One-Stop Shop) if selling under €150 per order.
  • Some suppliers don’t include VAT in their prices, which means your customers may have to pay import duties, affecting their experience.
  • If you sell to the U.S., you might need to consider state sales tax obligations depending on the volume of sales per state.

Are You Limiting Your Potential Sales?

To be honest, yes. Sticking to U.K. suppliers makes things easier, but it also means you’re missing out on:

  • Lower product costs from international suppliers (which could improve margins)
  • A larger customer base that could boost your revenue
  • More product variety since global suppliers offer more options

That being said, if you’re worried about tax complexities, you can start small—try expanding to a few key countries where taxes and logistics are easier to handle (e.g., EU countries with IOSS or markets with DSers-supported suppliers that handle taxes upfront).

If you want a middle ground, consider using U.K.-based dropshipping suppliers that source from abroad but handle taxes for you—platforms like Syncee or Avasam might be good alternatives.

Let me know if you need help exploring these options.
Best regards,
Daisy.
