When trying to “add to cart” for our one and only product that can also only be purchased on a recurring basis, we get the following error message “Variant can only be purchased with a selling plan.”
Can anyone advise on how to fix this or what we need to do?
This widget is used by the subscription app to modify the product (ie. add the selling plan parameter) when the user adds the product to cart.
Also, if this membership is meant to only be purchased as a subscription, then you may want to go to your product in Shopify Admin, and check the box “Only show this product with these purchase options”, so that it disables the one-time purchase.
Thank you so much!! Do you also happen to know if its possible to customize the interval of the membership/subscription renewal? Ours is not a regular interval, such as monthly. Because we are holiday based, the dates are specific and change.
Do you mean that each product has a different interval (ex: some products are monthly, some are weekly, and some are quarterly)? Or do you mean the same product will need to constantly change intervals?
Either way, it will depend on the subscription/membership app you’re using, but most have settings that allow you to adjust the interval. I suggest you explore the settings offered and/or reach out to their customer support for more information.
