Hi @Pari12 ,
If your Shopify website is loading slowly, it could be due to large image files, excessive apps, unoptimized code, or too many third-party scripts. Start by compressing images, removing unnecessary apps, and minimizing JavaScript and CSS files. Use Shopify’s built-in speed analysis or tools like Google PageSpeed Insights to identify specific bottlenecks. Also, consider using a fast Shopify theme, enabling lazy loading, and leveraging a CDN.
From looking at the site, I don’t think it is your image sizes or images as lazy loading is on and appears to work, but it seems that something is loading in first and causing the delay. I do see 5 google manager scripts loading which could be the cause because they should only have 1 or 2 scripts.
Page Speed Insights says your slideshow is the issue, but I don’t think it is, I just think spmething is slowing down the site from loading fast and then the images take longer to load in at the top.
You can try disabling your apps just to see if they could be the culprit. Just disable them and run a test in Page Speed Insights.
Sorry can’t give clear direct answer. Nice site BTW.
Here is my 2 cents:
Try to lower the number of product items shown on one page.
Look at your policies pages – they load very fast. Your product pages load fast too. Collection pages are slower and homepage is the slowest.
Compare the speed of big collections and small ones – say, Trousers and Jeans has only 8 products and it loads fast.
However, your homepage has 96 product items!.
Here is the thing – each product item is a complex HTML structure. Many of them are over 100Kb in size.
But it’s not only big file, rendering each product item takes time and obviously, rendering 96 products will take more time then rendering 8.
And this affects TTFB, which is very important because everything else matters only after visitors browser receives HTML document from Shopify server.
Hope it makes sense.
Thanks a lot.
You are right, Its not the images because I recently switched t this theme. An on earlier theme I had even more items with many more images but tat was like really fast. however this theme has been slow since the beginning. My worry is that I have to add more items every day but if it hampers the speed I might have switch it back to the older theme which is not as beautiful. There is some issue with coding. Is there anybody who can help me fix this.
Regards.
Hi, thanks though. Although i doubt that is the issue because I noticed the lag even on the preview before I created the homepage. But i went ahead and created everything as I really liked the layout hoping it can be fixed later. And now I need a fix. haha. Someone please help.
