Hi! I have a self-care boutique that is online and also we have a storefront. I have been in business for five years but still learning about the technical side. Looking at my website now, what areas should I be focused on improving to increase order conversion? My website is www.cleanbeautycharlotte.com
Topic summary
Goal: Improve an online/self‑care boutique site to increase order conversion (turn more visitors into buyers).
Current issues raised (with screenshots central to the critique):
- Desktop layout uses oversized blocks; hero video appears out of focus and causes eye strain.
- A hover/mouse-move glitch shifts elements unexpectedly.
- “Visit Us” page is largely blank aside from oversized header/footer; no clear mention of the physical storefront. Suggest adding Google Maps with directions.
Conversion-focused recommendations:
- Make product pages more decision-friendly: clearer benefits and “why buy now.”
- Reduce choice overload by grouping items into bundles/sets and recommending them.
- Add a small incentive to increase cart value and nudge toward checkout.
- Surface shipping and returns info near the add-to-cart area to reduce hesitation.
Homepage/navigation improvements:
- Add a testimonial carousel with real photos/quotes.
- On top 5–10 products, add short benefit bullet lists under the price.
- Create “Shop by Concern” landing pages (e.g., Dry Skin, Eco‑Chic Jewelry, Home Fragrance for Calm) and link from the homepage.
- Add trust cues: “100% clean ingredients • Suitable for sensitive skin • Ships in 1–2 business days.”
Status: Actionable suggestions provided; no final decision yet.
Your homepage has very big blocks. Everything is just too big on desktop. Mind you my screen is 24" wide so I’m looking at some huge pictures and text.. This video clip is out of focus so it’s definitely headache material.
This section has a weird glitch that moves everything when you move the mouse.
Your Visit Us page is pretty much blank except for the header that takes up half page and the footer that takes up the other half. I see no reference to you having an actual storefront. l I think you should check out some other websites. What things are they doing that you can incorporate? Google Maps with directions perhaps?
Hey! I took a look at your site. The branding and product quality come across well, so the main opportunities for higher conversion are more about guiding shoppers through the buying journey.
A few areas to focus on:
• Make the product pages a bit more “decision-friendly”, clearer benefits, clearer why-buy-now.
• Reduce choice overwhelm by grouping items that naturally go together. Shoppers convert much faster when they see recommended sets instead of individual products.
• Bring your shipping and return info closer to the add-to-cart area so people don’t hesitate.
• Add a small incentive for increasing cart value, something that nudges them toward checkout.
For stores like yours, well-structured bundles usually perform really well because customers already trust the brand but need a little push on value. If you want, I’m happy to walk through what type of bundle setup would fit your catalog.
Hi @CleanBeautyCLT! I focused on areas with the biggest impact on conversion rather than deep technical details, here’s what you can do:
- Add a testimonial carousel on homepage with real customer quotes/photos (even if you ask for new ones).
- On your top 5-10 products, add a short “benefit bullet list” right under the price: “✓ Suitable for sensitive skin • 100% clean ingredients • Ships in 1-2 business days”.
- Create a “Shop by Concern” landing page (for example: “Dry Skin”, “Eco-Chic Jewelry”, “Home Fragrance for Calm”) and link to that from your homepage—this helps visitors find their entry point quickly.
Hope this helps! ![]()
