I’ve been looking around for a cost friendly app that will recommend to my customers to add specific items to their cart with the purchase of another item.
More specifically, I sell dog toys. When a customer clicks on a toy, I would like just below the “add to cart” button an option like “we recommended these treats to add to your purchase” or, when they click add to cart, a separate pop up window suggesting they add the dog treats to their cart.
I’m unable to find an app that doesn’t cost a fortune, im just a startup abd can’t afford a high monthly membership fee!

Most of the upsell app is having pretty high pricing, but some charge based on orders or generated sales, we have this Best Upsell apps review article I think it would be helpful for you to make the decision.

I apologise as it’s not really an app suggestion as such, but just an alternative idea of how to approach upselling.
What I’m talking about is SMS marketing. Once you have collected customer’s data and know their preferences, SMS is a great way to lure them back to shop with you. You can offer them special deals on items that they could be interested in and do that in a personal way.

Hello Isabel, my recommendation would be to integrate the Smart Upsell app into your store as it enables Cart Upsell offers. Additionally, I suggest incorporating post-purchase funnels.
I recommend checking out the BOGOS app (free gift, bundles, upsell, discount). BOGOS can do exactly what you’re looking for with its “Frequently Bought Together” feature.
