Once again, Shopify rolls out another horrid live view - right before Black Friday. Just as we got accustomed to the completely awful globe (sort of, not really) - this happens! What the heck? Could the globe have gotten any worse? Yup, it sure did.
We don’t get a ton of visitors but I can only imagine the horror felt by more active sites.
Bring back the old or let me toggle between until I figure this one out.

I like it, much brighter. I miss the ‘humps’ from 3 or 4 versions ago.
It’s hideous! I can’t, for the life of me, work out where my live visitors are from by looking at the live view map! Absolutely horrendous! Worst map they’ve created to date ?? 
There’s no way they haven’t seen the overwhelming hatred towards the newest few versions of the live map. Do they not care what we think or are they just screwing with us?? At least you can see things on this version. Also, humps>circles.
Let us customize what type of data we want to see displayed on the side panel!
I’m hating the new live view as well, and also dislike the “Map view” option now too. It’s too light and the blue dots are extremely small and hard to see.
I’d like to see:
a darker map with the states in the USA outlined and labeled, and then when someone visits have it be like a bright star, almost the same icon as when someone buys from you.
How many ITEMS are sold in addition to total order count
The Page view count (as you’d see it in the app before clicking “See live view” - i watch this closely too
The new light version is horrendous and completely unreadable especially when casted on a large TV. Bring back the dark version!!!
Why in the world (no pun intended) would they take away the State border lines (U.S.) and country border lines and replace them with dots - with no definition of states or countries??!!
I’d love to know how someone sold this idea to the decision makers.
It’s pathetic!! Why would you change something that was working perfectly fine! On top of that, we are not able to see any visitor activity on the bottom left of screen like “someone from usa visited home page”, “someone viewed their cart” etc for the last 2 weeks! Our sales have also declined in last 10 days and many abandoned checkouts. Anynone else experiencing same issue?
I came to the forums for this. Shopify… What the actual f***. Really. This new live view is head-scratchingly horrible.
Stop trying to make something that looks cool and “designy” and give us something that functions efficiently for our needs. Please. Flat map with clear state and country borders, and with labels. Once you do that, leave it alone.
Also, bring back the visitor notifications on bottom left of screen showing “someone viewed their cart” etc!
