We are switching from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online. We currently use an app by Parex named QuickBooks Bridge. We assumed that we’d move to the app made by QuickBooks when switching to QuickBooks Online, but the app made by Intuit has terrible reviews. Anyone have advice on the best app to link Shopify with QuickBooks Online?
Topic summary
A merchant is migrating from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online and seeking a reliable Shopify integration app. Their current solution (Parex’s QuickBooks Bridge) won’t work with the online version, and the official Intuit app has poor reviews.
Recommended alternatives include:
- Zapier: General integration platform connecting multiple applications
- ConnectEase: Dedicated Shopify-QBO integration with positive feedback
- Shopify2QuickBooks: Known for user-friendly interface
- WeIntegrate: New app offering instant, accurate syncing with 15-day free trial
- Webgility: Features real-time reconciliation for complex setups
- Skyvia: No-code automation platform for simpler implementations
Key considerations when choosing:
Evaluate how each app handles fees, taxes, refunds, and inventory tracking. Prioritize solutions with strong customer support and positive reviews from similar businesses, especially important for complex inventory or multi-channel selling.
The discussion remains open with multiple viable options presented but no final decision made.

There are a few ways to sync Shopify with QuickBooks Online. One option is using apps like QuickBooks Online Global by Intuit, which directly syncs your sales data, though it may need some extra configuration for more complex accounting setups. Another popular choice is Webgility, offering features like real-time reconciliation. However, for a simpler, low-effort solution, Skyvia is worth considering. It’s a no-code platform that automates the sync process, so you can manage it easily without writing any custom code.
You’re right to be skeptical of apps with poor reviews, especially when it comes to accounting data. For syncing Shopify with QuickBooks Online, there are a few popular options available. Some focus on full order-level detail, while others stick to summary-level sync.
It’s worth comparing how they handle fees, taxes, refunds, and inventory. Some apps provide more robust tracking, while others may run into occasional sync issues or offer fewer customization options.
Look for one with strong support and positive reviews from merchants in similar industries. This is especially important if you’re managing complex inventory or selling across multiple channels.
