What's the difference between Hydrogen App and Headless App?

Hi!

Can someone explain what’s the difference between installing Hydrogen App:
https://apps.shopify.com/hydrogen

and Headless app where you create credentials for your Hydrogen storefront:
https://apps.shopify.com/headless

I’m trying to follow along a Hydrogen tutorial and can’t finish setup with the CLI as “Hydrogen is not available for my plan or development stores”. I can however create api credentials with the Headless app and connect to a Hydrogen storefront just fine.

Is there any difference in using the Headless app vs Hydrogen app?

Hi @teemukostamo ,
As my knowledge, your shopify plan should be Starter, Shopify, Advanced, or Plus plan to install and use the Hydrogen App. You can check more here https://shopify.dev/docs/custom-storefronts/hydrogen/getting-started

Hi! Thank you for your reply! I was just curious to what are the differences in using the Hydrogen sales channel vs using the Headless sales channel. I know that in order to deploy the storefront to Oxygen I must use the Hydrogen sales channel. I was able to deploy a demo store Hydrogen storefront to Vercel so I guess the workflow & developer experience will be similar to that when working with Oxygen deployment and Hydrogen sales channel.
