The theme is in a private github repo. I want the fastest, and easiest way, to link it to github repo so that when I edit, the theme automatically gets updated. It must be free forever.
I read that in order to do that, you must install specific theme and nodejs and whatnot. I read all these tutorials, can’t do any of them, I have a client which has an existing theme and I’m hired to do few edits here and there, I’m not starting from scratch.
You’re best off using theme kit + git. I’m not aware of any free tools that will sync theme changes to github in the way you describe.
Pull the repo, download the live theme and extract it into the repo folder make sure the two are in sync, if not commit any changes. Then use theme kit to develop the theme.
