I created a “collections list” section on a page where I want to showcase some items apart from the rest of my goods. However, when I create a section on one page, it shows up on every other page. I am familiar with this thread:

However I am ignorant of what they are talking about. I don’t know how to code; that is why I am using shopify. The tutotials here feel like they’re starting halfway into the lesson. Does anyone know where I can find a step by step tutorial for this issue?

The page you are using is using the same template. I would recommend creating another page template to make it unique to the page. Please read on how to create a template here

firstly I would like to thank you. This page is more readily understood the the one I’d been looking at previously. However, I am still running into some issues. Originally, my website had two page- templates. One was the default template and the other was the template specific to the page I wanted to make unique.
After reading the link you sent me, I figured that I needed to give every page a unique template, then try to add sections to the one page I wanted to work on. However, I was still met with the same results.
As of this message, I have 4 page-templates. Each of them are based on the default template. Still, whenever I try to add sections to the one page I wanted to modify, all of the pages are still edited. Am I creating unique templates for the wrong items? I am supposed to be creating a unique template for a page, am I not?

I think you are editing the same page. Make sure when you go to theme editor, you select the correct page. For me here, I have contact page (See image below).

You are right. Are you editing the main-page.liquid section? Or adding sections to the template? If you are adding sections, then the one you have should work. But you cannot edit the main-page.liquid and use it same template.

I am adding sections to the template. I too thought it should work at this point. I don’t believe I have edited the main-page.liquid.
To be clear, when I am adding sections, I am adding them to a template I made, and that template is modeled off of the default.

I checked back this morning, and everything is suddenly working as it is supposed to. I am doing nothing different from what I did before. I firstly want to thank you for sticking through this with me.
I also want to admit some frustration, as I still don’t know how to address the problem if it comes up again, as I didn’t really fix anything.
