Hello, for some reason I am being limited to only 5 product templates. According to shopify there are no limits. We only have 10 products so there’s no way we have gone over any other restrictions there may be.
The template button under products disappeared while I was editing the site.
I have shopify 2.0. The theme I am using is the 7.0 version of Showcase theme by Clean Canvas.

You can have as many products you want. It might be your theme has limitation. To fix theme issue you can contact with theme support or hire any developer to fix for you.

If any reason you are not getting the link for creating new product template, you can create it with in the code editor.
I created a small clip for you, please note it’s a Shopify Dawan theme but it’s the same for all the themes.

Please duplicate your current theme and never edit a live theme.
Be specific, do you mean the setting to apply a template to a product in the products-admin, or in the theme editor the template dropdown is missing the create new template behavior.
For the former make sure the theme your editing is the live theme, otherwise new template wont even show.
For the latter try in a different browser or clear your browser cache, test in a duplicate of the current theme and test in a backup before any recent changes or install a fresh theme copy and test in that.
