Why do I see visitors to our site that are from strange places! They visit constantly. We are a password protected, wholesale website so we know all our customers…something seem strange that we had all these visits from places were we don’t do business. Can someone explain what is going on…I’m talking hundreds of visits from strange towns in America as well as internationally.
We have the same issue.
I think the reason is that visitors just means people who have accessed the front page of the site (where you enter the password). It doesn’t mean they can access the password-protected part of the site. I am not 100% sure of this but it looks like this is the case.
If people are signed in with their own personal login to your site they will show as customers, but it would be a lot more helpful if shopify showed visitors excluding the password protected page so you could see how many people have the access code / password but haven’t actually signed in.
