I am trying to install Unlisted App in my store but i am not able to install it. It show app installation page with disable Install app button. I am able to install before 10 days and from 2-3 days i can not. Is there any reason?
Hi there, @RavindraPatel !
As per the screenshot you have shared, the app you are trying to install is no longer on the platform which is why it cannot be installed. Based on the timeline you have shared, this seems to have happened fairly recently which is common as our internal teams are constantly reviewing apps as well as partners constantly listing and removing their own apps as well.
I also looked through the Shopify App Store and said app is definitely not available anymore.
I recommend you click on the link posted in the red banner so you can be presented with alternative apps that will also achieve what the Unlisted App would’ve done for you.
Feel free to also express what you are after with this app. I am more than happy to also look for other alternatives for you. Getting a better idea on what you are after will also provide other contributors in this thread to share their own recommendations for us.
Hey @Daniel_41
This is our testing app. So we didn’t list it on the Shopify app store. So now what can we do?
Are you able to tell me more about this testing app? What exactly are you trying to do with it? Getting a clearer idea on your situation will help myself and possibly other contributors to provide you with the proper information to move this inquiry forward.
In the meantime however, I have found this great help document regarding Custom Apps. A custom app is an app that you or a developer builds exclusively for your Shopify store (unlike a public app, which is built to be used by many stores). This page will explain how to create and authenticate a custom app in the Shopify admin, whether you’re the store owner, or a developer with a collaborator or staff account.
The mentioned-link will also go over the following information from you:
If what you want is to submit your app for approval so it can be listed in the Shopify App Store, feel free to head over here for more information about that process and requirements.
Let me know how these workout for you and definitely looking forward to more information from you as well.
Hello @Daniel_41
Thank you for your response. I will go for app approval or create a new app.
Thank you,

Hey, Ravindra!
Pleasure was all mine! I wish you all the best in this endeavor. Thank you for putting in the effort to create a new app for the Shopify App Store and the platform. Myself and all your future-users are appreciative of this.
Feel free to keep using the Community at your disposal! Getting feedback regarding such matters on here has proven to be very invaluable.
This solution doesn’t work for us…we can’t just publish a development version of the app on our app store. The real app is already listed in the Shopify app store.
How are we supposed to large feature set or bugfix changes to existing apps if we can’t install a different version of the app on our dev store?
Is there a solution? Listing a duplicate, dev only version of the app is not a solution for us.
Ok, so it looks like we found a solution that does work. You can create a new app in your partner account and choose to create it as a Public app. You will not have to actually submit for app approval. I had to create a new app, couldn’t use the existing one. But no code changes are necessary, aside from the new app API key and API secret key.
It was also suggested to me by partner support chat that if we don’t need the Billing API or the need to install it on multiple stores, there is a new type of app status: Custom Apps that are much like the old Private App. That might work as well.
Hope this helps someone else out there!
