Why is my customer's shipping cost lower than what I'm being charged?

I used calculated shipping for my items and the price the customer is paying is lower than the price I am being charged. What is the problem and how do I get to a solution

Hi @jakeschneider11 ,

May I know which carrier you are using? And is your shipping setup configured accurately along with the weight of the products?

Hi there @jakeschneider11 .

Are you able to share with me a screenshot of your current shipping rates set up? Do you have prices assigned by product weight? Is product weight accurately recorded in the product descriptions?

Looking forward to hearing from you sow e can work through this.

Dear Jake

besides what the 2 previous Replies asked for (good to double check those areas) , i am going to leap forward and assume these are setup properly with weights , since you say you are being charged.

one problem with only dealing with WEIGHTS in setups is something called “Dimensional Volume” in shipping. meaning , if you are shipping something very light that takes up a lot of space (Towels, Heavy Knit Sweaters, Shoes, etc), you are probably paying for Dimensional freight once you key in Box Dimensions & Weight at shipping time – where during Customer checkout, they are only going off of Weight to customers Location.

I have not seen a way to enter Dimensions on Products so not sure how to counter this unless you setup shipping zones and charge a set fee for each zone for that item.

If this does not sound like your product issue, definitely answer the 2 people before so they can walk you thru the checking on how your Product/Shipping has been setup !!

Good luck and keep us posted so others who see this Thread might get help as well!!

Warm Regards

Robert

will it be better to add the shipping cost on product price and say free shipping ?
