Why is my friend's payment account on hold due to lack of SSN?

Hi,

I am trying to set up this account for a friend of mine, but she has EIN not a SSN. I got this message :

  • Your Shopify Payments account is on hold

    Your store can’t accept new orders with Shopify Payments.

    Contact Shopify Support

    Your payouts from Shopify Payments are on hold while we review your account

    Contact Support for next steps on this standard review. This hold does not prevent your customers from checking out.

    To continue accepting payments, you need to submit some additional details about your business.

    Is the reason because She does not have a SSN? How can we fix it? She has her business registered with the City, and she is the “sole proprietor” DBA.

Hi, @PielMorena!

The Shopify Payments hold can be due to a number of reasons. Our Shopify Payments team have their own process in place to determine this. Have you received an email from our “Money Support” team at all?

Also when clicking on “Submit Documents” on the banner in your home page, are you able to see the required documents you need to submit?
