My Shopify Payments account is on hold

To share some insight, account reviews are a standard process for merchants that are using Shopify Payments. This is to help verify and reduce fraudulent activity across the platform. With that said,

are you seeing a banner within the homepage of the Shopify admin that outlines your next steps? It will likely outline one of the following messages:

  • If you have been prompted to upload documents, then you will want to do so as soon as possible. Please be sure to provide all the requested information, ensuring documents are clear and complete (i.e the entire documents - no edges or corners cut off). Any submitted documents may take up to 3 business days to be reviewed.
  • If you’re not seeing an option to upload documents, you will likely see a message asking you to contact support. In this case, you will want to head over to our Contact Page and get in touch with our support advisors as soon as possible.
