Why won't the deleted app disappear from my site?

I installed an app a 2days ago, and something went wrong with my site (some of my images won’t show) so I deleted the app to see if this was the problem.

The problem is that it won’t disappear from my site.

I can not find it under “Apps” in my control panel;-(

The app is called ‘customer price calculator’

I would suggest you contact the support of the app for proper offboarding.

Hi there,

It looks like that the app has injected some kind codes of their own on to the theme file, which upon uninstallation, failed to clear those custom codes.

So, you are getting this problem

There are three things that you can do

  1. Contact the app support team about this issue. They will be well versed on the custom code and will be able to remove it.
  2. If you have backup of the theme before the installation of app, you can upload the same theme again, which will reset the theme.
  3. This is a tedious one. You can go to customize code, see all the files and view the change history. If you think that you have not made the changes, yet on change history, if the code has changes on later dates, you can revert those files to its original states. But, there are a lot of theme files so doing it manually will be really tedious.

I would suggest you to contact the App developers about this issue, which will be much faster.

I can confirm that for me, the product images are currently not displaying. It sounds like from what you’re telling me that this is likely linked to the app that has been added and then removed. Sometimes, an app can leave traces of code even after it has been uninstalled and this can in some cases affect how the store displays.

The best way to ensure every trace of the app’s code has been 100% removed is to reach out to the app developer directly and ask them to remove it. You can do this yourself directly if you wish, or if you prefer you can ask Shopify to do this on your behalf. This is only possible in the case of apps that have been added to your store from our Official Shopify App Store.
