Hi, I have been researching on migrating my shop from monolith to headless and it seems the good framework to use is Hydrogen as what all the articles, tutorials have suggested and it was also developed by shopify too. My doubt is the future of hydrogen, the documentation and roadmap is very promising. I want to start the development as soon as possible, but it is just stopping me to develop because Im afraid it might mess up when the release new version, it is the same what happen to me now, my store is really huge and currently using store 1.0, with thousand of codes and etc and when they release 2.0 and I want to migrate it I couldn’t cause it might messed up and a-lot of things change on 2.0 that is why instead continuing monolith, I would like to go on my own, but this hydrogen ugh. Shopify developer, does the hydrogen new version wont messed up?
There’s no way to know if any specific update would have any negative effect on what you’ve built. The best thing to do will be to stay on top of it; keep a eye out for upcoming changes, determine how they may affect you, and prepare a fix ahead. Consider optimizing your code so that a small change they make doesn’t turn into dozens of changes you need to make. Shopify moves fast and updates often.
