Youtube Player with a Cover Photo

Hello,

Hope you are doing great. We are trying to embed an elegant Youtube video player, but can’t seem to find a way. Perhaps someone can give us a clue?

The biggest issue is related to the fact that we are using a page builder app and therefore we can’t use Shopify apps (or we don’t know how to connect them). All we got is a place for the HTML code or the video section in the page builder. However, in both cases, we don’t know how to add a signature cover photo.

Requirements:

1. A custom cover photo (since the autoplay will be turned off);

2. Clean look without options such as “watch later”.

This is the best we got with the page builder app, but it doesn’t have a feature to add our own cover photo:

And this is how the classic HTML looks. Unfortunately, we don’t know how to add a clean cover photo:

We would tremendously appreciate it if someone could guide us to an appealing video player for youtube or if someone knows how to embed a custom cover photo for youtube code.

So there are quite a few ways you can do that with or without the page builder. Is it right on the homepage where you want to do that? Like this one: https://future-stories.com/

We want to do it on multiple pages that will be created with the page builder. Would be great if you could show us an example for any page and we would personally copy-paste your approach across different pages.

With regard to your example, we want to display a picture that transforms into a video player once it gets clicked on. However, in your case, it’s an automatic video player. Hope it makes sense.

We use the Refresh theme.

Hey, in case someone else has a similar issue then Vimeo premium plans allow to show/hide certain player features. Hope it helps.
