Hi all, good day. Hopefully can get some help with this. We recently copied over a theme. Homepage is showing “404 not found” on browser tab although everything else e.g. navigation etc other content is showing up right. We changed the title and meta description under Preferences already but nothing happened.
When we go to theme edit code, we see the 404 page as our homepage. Any idea how to remove this? without messing up the homepage? thanks.

I hope you have already fixed this issue but people may face this issue again in future I wan to add here how to fix this..
It may happen because your theme does not have index.liquid or index.json file in templates folder, it may have over written named as 404 so just rename it index.liquid or index.json it wil get fixed
THANK YOU for this, it worked! Simply renamed the 404.json to index.json.
Hi, I am glad it works for you, If you are using theme which you do not own, try to purchase that. Shopify do not allow that.
