Shopify Admin theme preview giving 404 Not Found

Hi everyone,

I’ve been trying to preview my shopify theme this afternoon and I can’t get passed the 404 page shown below:

I use the GitHub integration to load in my theme (tried multiple branches) but I’ve even tried uploading the theme locally as a zip and that gives the same result so I don’t think it is just linked to GitHub.

I can see the theme code correctly if I try and edit it so I know its picking it up correctly from GitHub. I see nothing unusual in the logs.

I know my theme isn’t broken because I haven’t changed anything since this morning when it was working and it performs fine locally. I see there are no issues on Shopify’s status page as well.

Thanks in advance if you can help because I’m pretty confused! :slightly_smiling_face:

Archie

PS: it’s an online store 2.0 theme

Update:

I can see that Shopify Admin seems to skip certain template files when it imports my theme. Below shows the template directory after upload and below that is what is present before upload.

Pretty weird - I’m on a chat with support atm!

Eventually realised that this was an issue with our theme. Going to keep this topic here incase anyone else encounters the same error page.

We had a duplicate entry in the orders array of our index.json template. This somehow stopped Shopify from reading the rest of our templates. It’s a bit annoying how the CLI or Admin didn’t tell me about the error as it was quite hard to find.

Oh well, we are back and building :slightly_smiling_face:
