A lot of themes have added this functionality of adding color/image swatches for store. You can check in the theme settings if your theme offers this or not.
Alternatively you can try and app like globo colour swatches app if I am naming it correctly or others. If they offer you customizations for free or may be a one time payment you can choose that or you can also go custom code way, which will also curtail a fee but definitely a one time payment.
