Add new Walmart connection

Topic summary

A merchant is unable to connect their Walmart account through Shopify Marketplace Connect. After entering the Client ID and Secret, the Connect button remains grayed out and unresponsive, despite clearing cache and verifying credentials.

Proposed Solutions:

  • One user suggests Shopify may have discontinued Walmart/Etsy connections via Marketplace Connect, recommending alternative apps
  • Another recommends regenerating API credentials in Walmart Developer Center (production environment, not sandbox) to ensure proper permissions alignment
  • Official Shopify Marketplace Connect support (Codisto/JoyV) provides a technical workaround: using browser inspect tools to manually remove the disabled="disabled" attribute from the Connect button’s HTML code

Status: The issue appears to be a known technical glitch with the Marketplace Connect interface. The official support team offered step-by-step instructions with screenshots and invited direct email contact (marketplace-connect@shopify.com) if the workaround fails.

Hey @BCMarine,

Thanks for posting this to Shopify community. By any chance can you share the screenshot of the issue that you facing while lining the Walmart.

Waiting to hear back from you.
Thanks

Hello @BCMarine ,

I hope you are well!

I think Shopify discontinued the Estsy and Walmart connect using Shopify Marketplace connect. You can find various post on Reddit and Shopify community that Walmart or Estsy connection is not working. I recommend you to look for other apps.

Thank You will do that now

Ah I see the issue.

By any chance can I have your store url and collab code so that I can take a look into it deeply. This is doable but with the best approach only.

Thanks

Hey there, maybe you can give this a read - Ultimate Guide to Shopify Walmart Integration.

This is generally caused when Walmart’s API credentials are not aligned with the region or permissions configuration. Regenerate the client ID and secret in the Walmart Developer Center for the appropriate environment (production, not sandbox). Then re-enter them in Marketplace Connect and refresh. That’s the one that usually turns the connect button back on.

Hi,

JoyV here, a Shopify Marketplace Connect support. If your Connect button is grayed out after entering the Client ID and Secret for Shopify Marketplace Connect, kindly try to follow these steps to fix it:

  1. Enter the Client ID and Client Secret

  2. Right-click the Connect button and select Inspect.

  1. Find the highlighted code and click the arrow to expand it.

  1. Double-click "disabled=“disabled”, delete it, then press Enter.

5. Click Connect again to link your Walmart account.
