Hey there,
I would like to add a slide show (or other sections that you can use on the home screen) to my collection page.
I figured out how to add a section to a page, but now I need to know how I can add a section to a collection. please let me know! 
Which theme are you using? In newer Online Store 2.0 themes it is possible to add sections on collection page.

Hi, @DjFalco2000 . I’m happy to help you out with this! What kind of information are you looking to add to your slideshow on your collection pages?
You can add a section to a page using your theme editor. To get to your theme editor, go to Online store > Themes > Customize (next to the theme you’re using). Then to add a section, select the template you want to edit at the top of your theme editor, and click Add section to browse through the available options for that template.
You can read more about using templates here and you can also read this page for more information on using sections and blocks.
Keep in mind that the layout you create using your Default collection theme template will apply to all of your collections by default, unless you manually change the template a collection uses. If you need a section to apply to one collection, and not another, you can create a new collection page template following these steps. The steps to apply a new template to a collection can be found on that page as well.

i’m using the debut theme

You’re right. The theme you’re using, Debut, is a vintage theme which means it doesn’t have the new Online Store 2.0 features that exist in our more recent themes. One of these features is the ability to add sections to all pages, instead of just the home page. You can read more about Online Store 2.0 features here and you can also find a full list of Online Store 2.0 themes in our theme store here. To start, I’d definitely recommend using one of the free Online Store 2.0 themes listed here.
Do you mind if I ask why you’re currently using Debut? Are there certain features that Debut has that you would like in a new theme? I may be able to suggest a better theme based on the features you’re looking for.
