Advice for a student with a lot of time

Hello everyone, I am currently a student, and it is the summer, so I have all the time in the world. I basically have like 24 hrs everyday where I can do anything. I am currently dropshipping, and I have made around 4 figures in sales, but obviously i want to be able to scale it up and make 4 figures a day even. I was just wondering if anyone had any advice for a dropshipper on what I should do everyday to make the most of it. I am going to start running facebook ads and I am currently working on trying to go viral from organic marketing, so I am creating organic content, but from a dropshipping perspective or even a ecommerce business perspective, what else can I be doing everyday? Like what are some things that I can do to become a master of dropshipping, or just as a businessman in general? Anything to read, watch, listen to, or most importantly do? any practices that you guys would recommend?

Hi @ComfyHomeFinds

Okay, I understand you’re a student with plenty of time this summer, and you’re looking to ramp up your dropshipping business significantly. You’re already doing some things right (organic content, considering Facebook ads), but want to know what else you can do daily to really master dropshipping and become a better businessperson. You are aiming for some high-level scaling of daily profit. Here’s my advice, focusing on daily actionable tasks:

The main question here is: What should a dropshipping student do every day to maximize their business and learning, beyond creating content and starting Facebook ads?

Here’s a breakdown of daily practices:

  • Product Research (30-60 minutes): Don’t just stick with your current products. Every day, dedicate time to finding new potential winners. Use tools like Google Trends, browse competitor sites, and check out social media (especially TikTok and Instagram) for trending products. I personally find that setting aside a dedicated “product hunting” time block keeps me consistent.

  • Competitor Analysis (30 minutes): Choose 1-2 successful dropshipping stores (or even general e-commerce stores) daily and analyze their:

  • Website design and user experience.

  • Product descriptions.

  • Pricing strategies.

  • Marketing tactics (look at their social media, ads they’re running, etc.).

  • Customer reviews (what are people saying they love/hate?). Learning from what others do well (and poorly) is the fastest way to improve.- Ad Optimization (If running ads - 30-60 minutes): If you’ve started Facebook ads (or any other paid advertising), don’t just set them and forget them. Check your ad performance daily. Look at key metrics like click-through rate (CTR), cost per click (CPC), and return on ad spend (ROAS). Tweak your ad copy, targeting, or creatives based on the data. Even small daily adjustments can make a huge difference over time.

  • Customer Service Check-In (15-30 minutes): Even if you have few orders, check daily for any customer inquiries (emails, social media messages, etc.). Prompt and helpful responses are critical for building trust and preventing negative reviews, especially in the early stages.

  • Skill Development (30-60 minutes): Dedicate time every day to learning something new related to e-commerce, marketing, or business in general. This could include:

  • Reading articles or blog posts (Shopify’s blog is a great resource).

  • Taking short online courses (on platforms like Skillshare, Coursera, or even free YouTube tutorials). Focus on areas where you feel weak (e.g., copywriting, email marketing, video editing).

  • Listen to the business podcast, or marketing podcast to gain more experience.- Website Optimization Check (15 minutes): Check the speed of your website using PageSpeed Insights. A slight delay on loading may make you lost potential customers.

These are concise steps to maximize your daily schedule to be more productive for your business.

If you need any other assistance, feel free to reply, and I will try my best to help.

Best regards,

Daisy.
