Hi,
I’m unable to edit the code in any of my theme files. When I click “Edit code,” it opens the editor screen but stays stuck on “Loading Editor” indefinitely.

Same here, same result after changing browser / device.

There’s probably an issue with shopify right now. Im having the same issue. It might be fixed later or tomorrow

Always check shopifystatus.com first.

There’s also trying on a different browser, device, or clearing the cache.
If the issue continues advanced users probably should investiage using the shopify-cli, or themekit to work on theme code locally in desktop software.

Then contact shopify support advisors directly to complain about the new editor problems.

→ type “support advisor” to try and bypass the dumb chatbot quicker.

Though this is just the sad state of affairs you can probably come to expect after they decided to force a full blown bloated IDE on merchants that’s 3x the size and 3x slower than the old reliable editor; if it even works.

Imagine making everyone use a jackhammer when they just need a hammer, then the jackhammer keeps breaking.

Confirmed by Customer service that there is an ongoing issue with the code editor. Developer working on it.

Check shopifystatus.com first for platform issues. If clear, temporarily disable recently installed apps in your Shopify admin as they can conflict with the editor. If the problem continues, contact Shopify Support directly as it may be an account-specific issue requiring their investigation.

now it is fixed. yesterday it is issue by shopify now they fixed it.
