Anyone else using Brother QL-1110ONWB label printer? I'm having a lot of trouble connecting to it

Topic summary

A user is experiencing connectivity issues with the Brother QL-1110ONWB label printer when using it with the Shopify app. The printer works via WiFi on an older iPhone (iOS 17) but fails on iPads running iOS 18—the print button doesn’t open files for printing. Bluetooth connectivity isn’t working on any device.

Troubleshooting attempts:

  • WiFi network confirmed correct
  • Printer firmware is up to date
  • iPad lacks the Printer & Scanner settings menu mentioned in initial suggestions

Suggested solutions:

  • Manually set the printer’s IP address in printer settings
  • Verify correct label size is configured in print options

The issue remains unresolved, with the user waiting for support response (noted that 24/7 support claim appears inaccurate as weekend support is unavailable). The iOS version difference between working and non-working devices may be relevant to the problem.

So far I’m really disappointed with the printer, it is supposed to be compatible with the Shopify app and I should have 24/7 support. I haven’t found either to be true and I’m currently waiting to hear back from support since they aren’t actually available on weekends.

I was able to get it working via wifi with my older iphone (ios17) but not with my ipads (ios18 if that matters). I keep getting stuck when I hit the print button from the Shopify app, it doesn’t open the file to print as it does on my iphone. No luck with bluetooth on any device.

Anyone else have experience with these or have any tips?

Hi @Platypyrus In your iPad’s Settings > Printer & Scanner menu, try removing the printer and adding it again
Check if your printer’s firmware is up to date
Ensure both your iPad and printer are connected to the same WiFi network.

Wifi is correct, firmware is up to date. As for a printer/scanner menu, there is no such setting in the iPad.

then we all pray for the fast reply of support.

What worked for me was manually setting the printer’s IP address in the printer settings menu and making sure it’s set to use the correct label size in the print options.
