They are still selling the terminals. You can just not put the device into the dock which will make it not trigger customer view mode. Won’t help you after they fully discontinue, but will work now.
edit: never mind it says in their article that terminals will not work as pos go devices.
This is a stupid decision. They are trying to push Shopify POS hard, then take away features? I can’t ask my associates to use their own iPhones, and iPhones are far more expensive than the POS go docks. Also, the camera is a horrible solution for barcode scanning in a hurry. Horrible, horrible decision.

I’m thinking of getting rid of mine as I’ve just finished set up and found it doesn’t work with my mPop cash till and printer 
total waste of time and money
