We have a couple of combo products (each combo has a unique SKU). When a customer places an order for the combo product, we would like to fulfill the product with its single SKU and as a single shipment. When we use the bundling apps to create the bundles/combo as a product, the app automatically separates the combo product into the individual line items. Does anyone know of an app that can merge the individual SKUs back into the combo product SKU so all the items can be shipped together?
For example, our combo product called “Full Set” has products A + B + C + D. Each products have a unique SKU and the “Full Set” itself has its own unique SKU as well. Ideally, we would want a bundling app to recognize the “Full Set” as a single product with a single SKU so that our fulfillment center can pick and pack the individual products into a single shipment (kitting).
If anyone knows an app that can merge SKUs together into a single SKU (through rules) or a fulfillment app that allows kitting, please let me know!!
Although our app is not capable of merging SKUs, what many of our merchants do is they would give their dummy bundle products a generic bundle SKU (e.g. BUNDLESKU123) and ask their 3PL to filter them out. Please check with your 3PL to see if this is an option should you decide to give our app a try (in case you haven’t).
If you already have a SKU for “Full Set” why don’t you just sell that as a virtual product so it then flows through to your fulfilment center as one order line? Or are there multiple options to choose from to make up the “Full Set”?
Simple Bundles can definitely assist you with this. Our Single-SKU bundles are the answer to your question. This type of bundle would mean that the bundle product and its components are identified by only one SKU during fulfillment which is exactly what you are looking for. When a customer orders a bundle, you’ll only see the bundle product, not its individual components. Unlike our Multi-SKU bundles.
