A Shopify developer is seeking app ideas and pain points from store owners to build solutions.
Suggestions received:
Mass photo importing: A request for bulk image uploads similar to CSV product imports, though the developer notes existing dropshipping apps may already handle this functionality.
Analytics and bot detection: Concerns about bot traffic inflating store analytics. The developer questions how widespread this issue is and asks what users would pay for such a solution, noting they haven’t personally encountered this problem frequently.
Custom order management (most detailed): A store owner handling made-to-order products describes a significant workflow bottleneck. Currently, viewing customization details (colors, names, specifications) requires clicking into each unfulfilled order individually. The proposed app would display unfulfilled orders with product images and all customization details visible in a scrollable list view—similar to Etsy’s interface—plus options to check off completed items, print packing slips, and reorder based on workflow needs.
The discussion remains open, with the developer actively requesting clarification and gauging demand for each suggestion.

If you’re using Shopify, I’d love to hear from you!
I’m developing for Shopify and would really appreciate any ideas or feedback on issues you may encounter that could make your experience smoother and more efficient.
If you have any thoughts, ideas, or even small frustrations you’ve noticed, I’m here to help and would love to create solutions that work for you! Thank you so much for your time!
I don’t know how possible it would be, but mass importing photos of products, the same way you mass import products with a CSV somehow would be incredible. I have been manually adding photos after importing an order or new products.
Hello @w-2212 this sounds really cool and well done to you for coming here! One thing I noticed that a lot of store owners on here complain about usually has to do with analytics tracking so that would be a good app to develop and improve on the already existing ones!
Oh no problem, a lot of people I’ve seen recently come to complain that they suspect bots in particular may be messing up with the amount of traffic being driven to their store so maybe an app that could easily determine and differentiate bot attacks from actual visitors in a store is something that a lot of store owners would appreciate right now.
According to the people I know, they don’t have that many bot attacks on their store!
Again I’m just asking!
I would appreciate an answer brother (:
And another question!
Now for example I would tell you that I am going to build it for you!
How much do you think you would be willing to pay for something like this?
Everything you offer me will count!
And of course I would also love for you to let me know if you know a lot of people / friends of yours who have the problem, I would love to hear it!
Because in my life I have never heard of such a thing as having bots in your store!
I’m a Shopify store owner who creates a lot of custom, made-to-order products. One of my biggest time challenges is the current order list in Shopify. When viewing unfulfilled orders, I need to click into each one individually just to see the order details, such as specific colours, names, or customisations chosen by my customers. This is a huge bottleneck for workflows like mine, where every order is unique.
On Etsy, I can scroll through my open orders and instantly see an image of the item along with all custom options and specifications—without needing to click into each order. This setup saves so much time and makes it easy to create a batch production list and track which custom orders are completed.
My idea is for a Shopify app that:
Shows the unfulfilled orders list with images and all customisation details visible at a glance.
Allows scrolling through open orders without extra clicks.
Optionally lets you check off, mark, print packing slips for orders that are ready, or reorder orders based on your workflow.
I don’t want money for the idea—I’d simply love to see something like this exist because it would be a game-changer for small businesses doing custom work. If any developer is interested, I’m happy to provide feedback or testing!
Hey Sarah,
Did you find a matching App yet?
I am looking for Ideas to build right now!
I found apps like Orderly Print, is that sortof what you need ?
If not what is missing with the current apps, a more direct integration in the admin Ui, better Ui?
Let me know and im happy to look more into this
You can look into apps which are more into the ordering system such as discount limits and discount capping apps which maximizes the value for the merchant.
