Hi, @gyrotron .

I appreciate you reaching out in the Community Forums with your question.

Thanks for providing all of this additional context and a screenshot of the area you’re referring to. If you have a business that is registered in the U.S and you are located outside of the U.S, you must meet these requirements in order to be eligible for Shopify Payments:

  • Government issued photo ID: Driver’s licence, Passport, State-issued ID card. Non-US ID may be accepted

  • A Tax ID in the United States: SSN if you’re registered with the IRS as an individual/sole proprietor.

  • State level business registration document

  • Proof of your physical presence in the US. Our team may ask for a copy of your lease/rental agreement, proof of orders being shipped from the US, or other proof, at their discretion.

  • A USD checking account, opened with a real US banking institution, located on US soil. Virtual banks, currency services or other specialty accounts will not work for this, it has to be a standard US bank.

Alternatively, if you’re not able to provide an SSN number you can also look into using an alternative payment gateway for the U.S to be able to accept payment on your store.

Once you’ve obtained the required documents, you’ll need to out directly to our Live Support via chat, email or scheduling a call-back. The reason I suggest this is that we are not able to authenticate your account or provide account specific information via our Community Forums. Our Support team will review the documentation and reach out to you for best next steps.
