Asset Group Pending

Hi. My asset group was approved, then I got a recommendation to improve it to get my rating up from Good. I changed some things a few days ago, and It’s still pending. Does this mean the assets are not being used in my ads? Secondary to this, I have the same question someone else asked, but I didn’t find the answer helped me. I am also getting a notice that says my ads are “ limited by budget”. with the recommendation being increase my daily budget. I am not able to do that, I am a one woman show selling handcrafted jewelry – I already increased my daily ad spend as high as I can possibly go. Does this mean that google will not show my ads, or will it just show it till I reach that low daily budget I have set? Thanks!!

Hello Stacey thank you for your question and for joining the Shopify AMA. My name is Emmanuel, founder of FeedArmy, and your host for today’s AMA.

If you are talking about ad strength for asset groups, this will show after a while when new data appears, until then it will show as pending until Google can verify the new asset group ad strength.

I actually don’t know how long this takes, as I think it depends on how busy your campaigns are, the more traffic you get, the quicker this is updated.

When you ads are limited by budget that means that your ads can stop at any given time during the day. So this can mean lost opportunities.

If you don’t have the budget to spend more, either limit the hours your ads show during the day, increase the ROAS target or exclude keywords to limit the targeting.

You can check your daily hourly report to see when traffic drops more dramatically. Sometimes limited by budget will have no side effects, in other cases performance starts to drop.

So it’s a bit of a game. My recommendation if its performance max that you are using, increase the ROAS a little, but no more than 30% per 3 to 5 days.

See how that goes.

Or even, exclude products that are wasting budget or are not performing. So many ways you can reduce spending for the campaign, to avoid limited by budget notice.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. I am so new to all of this and trying to do it all myself. I believe I have bigger issues, so I am going to try to find help. In Google Ads, most items inside of goals say misconfigured or needs attention :frowning:

The Google Ads goals that are misconfigured are not necessarily broken, and it’s mostly a misunderstanding of what conversion action can have what.

For example, one reason you see misconfiguration is that add to cart can not have enhanced conversions, while purchase can.

Enhanced conversions are data points when a purchase takes place, and consumer data is sent, such as address, email, phone, etc.

But that is not possible when add to cart is clicked on, because in this case you would not have consumer data, so it’s shown as misconfigured, but doesn’t mean it’s broken. Just enhanced conversion will not work.

And this is correct by design. Only Purchase actions can have enhanced conversions, everything else should show as misconfigured. I know its weird, but not once you know the reason.

There are of course other reasons, but this is the main one.

Well that’s not confusing for someone starting out :joy: Thanks for the answer. I am sure this is way below your pay grade, but do you know of anyone who offers small business the service of taking a look at how things are configured to make sure it’s all working correctly? Thanks again.
