Auto fulfillment Stalled question

Hello:

I set up an API from Shopify To my fulfillment center and believe I did it correctly.

To test the connection, I ordered an item myself from my Shopify store. But the order was never sent to the warehouse for fulfillment. Under Orders, the order I placed as a test is sitting as ‘unfulfilled.’

I THEN learned that you must select “Auto Fulfillment” in order for orders to be sent to the fulfillment center via the API. I selected Auto Fullfillment, saved the setting but the test order has not fulfilled.

Is there some way to PUSH this order manually? Must I delete this order and try again? Will creating a SECOND test order sort of ‘reset’ the FIRST order and they will BOTH push to the warehouse?

Thank you

Robert

Hi Raltomare,

Now that you’ve set the “Auto Fulfillment” option, future orders will automatically be sent to your fulfillment center. However, for the existing order that is stuck in ‘unfulfilled’ status, you can manually push it to your fulfillment center. This can typically be done in one of two ways:

  • Through Shopify Admin: Go to the ‘Orders’ section, find your test order, and there should be an option to request fulfillment. This action tells Shopify to send the order details to the fulfillment service you have set up.
  • Using the API: If your fulfillment center allows, you can use Shopify’s Fulfillment API to create a fulfillment for the order, you can see an example of this in our dev docs.

Hope this helps,

Hello and thank you for your reply.

I actually discovered the ‘request fulfillment’ option when troubleshooting this issue. When I selected it, I received the following error message:

None of the selected orders can be fulfilled by a fulfillment service. Learn more about bulk actions <>.

And yes, I am using the API with my 3d party warehouse.
