We’re a landscape supply business that offers local delivery. My store clerks and I work closely with our drivers to coordinate and keep track of the status of the deliveries each day. Our current system of printed sheets on clipboards works, but it feels a bit archaic and could use improvements.
What I’m dreaming of is some kind of app that would show all of the day’s delivery orders, organized by priority. When a delivery is selected, it would show the order details (product and quantity), delivery address, requested delivery time, and the instructions for dropoff that the customer included in their order. In a perfect world, there would be a feature where my drivers would tap “loading order X,” and “en route for order X” and “order X delivery completed” AND I would get a notification each time this happened. Does something like this exist?
Hello there Holland @Holland2828 I suggest that you check out the first five on this list here https://apps.shopify.com/categories/orders-and-shipping-shipping-solutions-delivery-and-pickup/all and see which one suits your demands best.
Looking at the listed apps, they’re not really what I need. We already have a system for customers to pick their delivery date and time. What I’m looking for is an app that can pull existing orders from Shopify, and allows me and my drivers to keep track of that day’s deliveries.
Hey @Holland2828 ,
Totally hear you. The clipboard system works, but once the deliveries start stacking up, it can get hard to track everything clearly. I think a lot of local businesses are in a similar boat when it comes to syncing staff and drivers without overcomplicating things.
You might want to check out ParcelPanel Order Tracking. It’s built for Shopify, and while it’s not a full delivery management system like what larger couriers use, it does cover quite a few of the features you’re describing:
- You can see all your orders in one dashboard, including fulfillment status and delivery progress.
- It supports real-time updates and sends out automated notifications (like “out for delivery” or “delivered”) based on order status.
- There’s a branded tracking page too, so your team and customers can see the order product details, delivery progress without needing to follow up manually.
- If you’re using a local delivery service that supports tracking or status webhooks, it can sync with that too (they support 1,400+ carriers worldwide, including smaller ones).
It won’t give you full driver control like “tap to confirm loading” directly, but if your drivers use systems that update status (even through a scan or dashboard), it can reflect that back into Shopify and notify you.
Happy to answer any other setup questions!
