Hey guys,
what is the best most efficient method for
1: Running a sale on the whole store.
2: Adding items on sale automatically to an on-sale or clearance collection.
Do products that have a compare at price automatically go to these places also?
Thank you.

Hello @eldean0 ,
Good day! Gina from flareAI app helping Shopify merchants get $6Million+ in sales from Google Search, on autopilot.
- Running a sale on the whole store can be easily achieved by using the “Discounts” feature in Shopify. Here are the steps to create a sale for your entire store.
- From your Shopify admin, go to Discounts
- Click on “Create Discount” and choose “Percentage Discount” or “Fixed Amount Discount”
- Under “Applies to,” select “Entire order”
- Set the discount amount and choose any other conditions or restrictions you want to apply
- Save the discount and make it active on your store
- To automatically add items on sale to an on-sale or clearance collection, you can create a Smart Collection in Shopify. Here’s how to do it,
- From your Shopify admin, go to Products > Collections
- Click on “Create collection”
- Choose “Automated”
- Under “Conditions,” choose “Product Price”
- Set the conditions for your sale (e.g. “Price is greater than $X” or “Compare at price is greater than $X”)
- Under “Collection type,” choose “Clearance” or create a new collection type
- Save the collection and it will automatically update with any products that meet the conditions you set
And to answer your last question, products that have a compare at price will not automatically go to an on-sale or clearance collection. You will need to set the conditions in your Smart Collection to include products with a compare at price that meets your criteria.

Hey Gina,
Thank you for this, I was able to achieve this but under collection type there is no clearance option, just automated and manual. Thank you!
