We sell on both Shopify and Amazon and keeping the inventory matched up is turning into a real headache.
A sale goes through on Amazon and Shopify doesn’t update fast enough… then the same item sells on Shopify and we end up overselling. Super frustrating.
FBA makes it even trickier since Shopify never seems to show what’s actually available in Amazon’s warehouse.
Does Shopify have any built-in way to handle this properly, or do most of you just use a third-party app? I’m hoping to find something reliable that isn’t overly complicated to set up.
Would love to hear what’s been working for you guys.
Hi @mimi_17 ,
Shopify has no native real-time inventory sync with Amazon or FBA. Inventory can lag, and overselling is common without third-party help.
You have to use third-party sync app Shopify Marketplace Connect
LitCommerce is a great choice with its user-friendly interface, real-time sync, strong support, and affordable pricing.
Thanks
Manoj
In addition to some of the recommendations above, I know that some people use the “Amazon MCF” by Amazon. There’s a similar one by ByteStand. These are for FBA specifically.
It sounds like you need to handle both sides though. You have Amazon Marketplace too.
Would love to hear from others what they’re actually using and what’s working well. Is anyone using any of these apps and could chime in?
Joy V here from Shopify Marketplace Connect support. While Shopify doesn’t have a built-in feature to pull FBA inventory directly into your store, you can manage this effectively with the Shopify Marketplace Connect app’s Amazon MCF by Shopify Marketplace Connect. Once your FBA listings are linked to your Shopify products and are enrolled in Amazon MCF by Shopify Marketplace, the app can then sync your FBA inventory to Shopify. You may also then request fulfillment for your Shopify orders(only MCF Enrolled products) to Amazon MCF.
The app will also allow you to sync inventory in near real-time, using your Shopify catalog as the source of truth. The app can automatically send your Amazon orders to Shopify for fulfillment, and that triggers the inventory of the purchased product to be decremented automatically on Shopify, keeping the inventory in sync between Shopify and Amazon.
