[BUG] Checkout UI "Recurring Subtotal" is incorrect with discount code

Hi there -

One of our merchants recently noticed this bug in Shopify’s Checkout UI.

If you add a product with a selling plan that uses cycle discounts so that the first order is priced differently than future orders, and then the customer also adds a valid discount code Shopify’s checkout UI shows an incorrect price for the first order. It doesn’t take the discount into account:

You can see in this test example that the product is $120 for the first order then $0 for every order after that due to the selling plan. You can also see that the customer has added a valid first-order-only $10 discount code.

The price on the line, in the subtotal and in the total are all correct. But if you look at the “Recurring subtotal” it says “First payment €120.00, then €0.00 every month” but that’s not right. It should be “First payment €110.00, then €0.00 every month”

Any help would be appreciated! I’m happy to send test shop and discounts via DM if that’d help.

I understand that it is mentioned when you hover, but from a customer pov, it’s still confusing and creating friction when it comes to completing the purchase.

We need to it calculate the actual amount they will be charged. That’s what a customer cares about.

This is not a solution. Is there any plan to fix?
