Bulk inventory editor

In the bulk inventory editor, the previous workflow was much faster: click a cell, enter the quantity, then press Tab to move directly to the next cell. Now, you need to double-click each cell before you can edit it. This extra step significantly slows down inventory updates. Please restore single-click editing or add a setting that lets merchants choose this behavior.

I’ve run into this too — the extra double-click makes a batch update noticeably slower, especially when tabbing through a list. The old click → enter quantity → Tab flow was much quicker. A single-click-to-edit or keyboard-navigation option would make the new editor workable; I’d include a short screen recording in the in-product feedback so Shopify can see the regression.

This kind of interaction cost adds up fast when someone is reconciling dozens or hundreds of variants. Until Shopify restores the keyboard flow, I’d avoid using row position as the only reference when doing long runs—keep SKU visible and periodically reconcile the edited quantities against an export so a mis-click doesn’t silently land on the wrong variant.
