Bundle Builder not tracking inventory

Topic summary

A store owner purchased a bundle builder section from the Section Store but faces two critical issues:

Problems identified:

  • Inventory doesn’t automatically decrease when bundles are sold, requiring daily manual adjustments
  • Packing slips only display the bundle name, not the individual products included

Solutions proposed:

Three app developers offered different approaches:

  1. BundleSync - Recommends using Shopify native bundles, which automatically show components as separate order lines. Their app allows complex bundle setups on variants through an interface or CSV file management.

  2. BOGOS - Claims to automatically sync inventory after bundle purchases and properly display individual products on packing slips. Includes screenshots demonstrating the packing slip functionality.

  3. Easify Inventory Sync - Suggests creating “Bundle Groups” that link the bundle to component products with specified quantities. When a bundle sells, component inventory automatically reduces proportionally.

Status: The issue remains unresolved as the original poster hasn’t responded to any suggestions. All three solutions appear viable but require installing third-party apps to replace the current Section Store bundle builder.

Hi All,

I have bought a ‘bundle builder section’ from the ‘section store’ which is working really for my customers however, when products are purchased in a bundle, my store inventory is not reducing in line with the sold stock. i have to manually adjust this every day which is not ideal in any way.

In addition, when I print the packing slip, I just see the name of the bundle, rather than the name of the bundle AND the products within the bundle that has been sold.

Is anyone able to help me:

  1. ensure the inventory is reducing after every bundle purchase

and

  1. show the products (as well as the bundle) on the packing slip

My website and bundle page is:

Many thanks in advance!

Hi

It looks like your bundle just uses variants of pack size. If this variant is the one that then loads during checkout you can fix your issues by utilizing Shopify native bundles.

Shopify native bundles let you link all components of a variant and this then shows up during checkout and as separate order lines in admin.

The free Shopify bundle app won’t let you make these kind of complex bundle set ups on variants so you can use our Bundle Sync app which lets you set these up.

You can set up each variant in Bundle Sync through the interface or you can manage all bundles using a csv file. Once set up all your bundles you can then trigger for them to be created in your Shopify store as native Shopify bundles.

Hi @harper1989

If you’re selling bundles with different products, Easify Inventory Sync can simplify your inventory management process. Our app will automatically update the inventory for each individual product within the bundle when a purchase is made, so you won’t have to worry about manual stock adjustments. Here’s an example of 1 box that include 1 ruler, 2 pencils:

1. Set Up Bundle Groups: Use the app to create Bundle groups that connect your Box with your original individual products (Ruler and Pencil). Here’s how to set up a bundle group for your product:

  • Master Product: Your Box
  • Component Product: Ruler product with the Quantity per Bundle set to 1
  • Component Product: Pencil product with the Quantity per Bundle set to 2

2. How It Works:

  • The inventory for your box will be automatically calculated based on the individual product’s inventory.
  • When one box is purchased, the inventory of ruler will be reduced by 1 and pencil will be reduced by 2, total is 3. The app will then recalculate the available quantities for your box based on the updated individual product inventory, ensuring accurate inventory tracking.

I hope this answer helps solve the problem. If you need further assistance, feel free to reach out to Easify anytime! :hugs:
