I am not able to apply discount on variants like i have 2 variants sizes A3 A4. I want to give Buys 5 Get 5 offer but on same Variants. I have a solution for exactly what you need. Try this app: BOGOS Free gifts, Discounts & Bundles.
This app allows you to create a Buy X get Y Free on product variants. So if customers purchase 5 A4 variants, he will get the same 5 A5 variants. It’s the same with other variants and they will not get the mixed products.

This looks like it can be done with the standard shopify discounts without an app. I created a Buy X get Y discount, but instead of picking a product, I picked a specific variant. “Dawn”. This is a buy 5 Dawn, get 5 Dawn free discount.
It looks like this in the cart. The other variant ‘Electric’ didn’t get the discount.
