Can customers sell and buy items on Shopify like Vinted?

Hey there!

Does anyone know if Shopify allows a customer to customer type marketplace? Something similar to Vinted’s business model where customer can sell their own items, but also purchase items from other customers

I have seen a multi vendor marketplace add on, however I’m not sure users will be able to purchase items if set up as a “supplier”

Hello,
I am also interested in this topic. Is there a way to create a kind of escrow account with a Shopify merchant account?
In the same cart, a buyer orders and pays:

  • for item 1, the payment is on hold, the payment is released the seller after the buyer receives the item 1. (C2C marketplace)
  • for a item 2, the payment is sent to the merchant account. (standard ecommerce journey)

Also interested in this option. Lots of multi-vendor options available, but they’re all b2c focussed like Amazon. I’m looking to create a c2c marketplace like ebay, vinted etc. User has one account that allows them to buy & sell.

I recommend this plugin called Shipturtle. I have used it for my client’s clothing store.

The C2C functionality is an add-on feature which can be purchased for around $50. All you need is an active Shopify website and a subscription to ShipTurtle’s basic plan. Find Shipturtle here. https://apps.shopify.com/shipturtle

Users on my website can now be both suppliers and buyers.
