Can I change the variant ID in the URL to variant color?

I want to change the URL of the variants. Instead of variant ID I want to make it variant color. Is that possible?

How can I replace the value? If this is the URL https://www.example.com/product/12345?variant=5678 how can I replace “5678” with the new variant ID?

As per your request you want color to be added into the URL, recommended way would be to append selected variant name into the URL.

Changing variant id in URL will impact Store functionality.
