Can I integrate my retail and wholesale sites on one Shopify host?

When I originally decided to host with Shopify, it was to build a site for wholesale for my products as I already have a retail site hosted by another host. I have decided now, half way through building my wholesale site, that I want to move my retail site to Shopify as well and have my new wholesale domain as an extension of my retail site. My goal is to have a page and/or links that direct a retailer to the wholesale domain, however, it’s all interconnected so they are not leaving my main domain so much as just going to a different page/section that is just for wholesale. There would be a minimum order quantity enforced, requirement for a resale certificate to be provided, and the ability to not charge sales tax if they were a retailer. Not sure I’m making sense as I am unsure of how to build such a site or if it is possible. I don’t want two separate websites hosted, I want it all on one hosting package. I’m thinking that I may need to reach out to someone that can build this site for me or at least get the outline done and then hand it back off to me.

IF the above can be accomplished (I am using the Dawn Theme):

  1. How can I build out my retail site without repointing to Shopify from my current host. I don’t want to repoint until I have my new retail site all set up here on Shopify.

  2. Currently, everything from my login to my links, to my emails, etc. all show as the domain I set up for wholesale when I started. Basically, all of the branding I’ve done under my new domain here with Shopify will now need to be rebranded. Will these links that are embedded automatically update to the retail domain when I repoint or will that need to be a manual process that I will need to painstakingly perform.

  3. Is there a way to enforce a minimum order quantity, prevent someone from placing a wholesale order without approval (I would need to receive a valid resale certificate prior to allowing the order) and the ability to not charge sales tax if they were a retailer. The sales tax might be the trickiest because I don’t want to have to set up two separate product pages - one for retail and one for wholesale. So maybe when I approve the wholesaler, there is something I can do on the backend to prevent sales tax from being charged?

  4. Am I using the wrong Theme for what I am attempting to do.

  5. If this is doable, are there any sites that I can visit where this has been done successfully?
