I have a store operating on a domain. It’s a domain purchased via Shopify.
I want to create a new store but use a subdomain from my existing store.
Is this possible?

we’ve had conflicting comms regarding this and we were told its not possible.
Separate payments is fine and what we want.
We want to have separate stores but coming off the same domain.
for example our existing is: www.example.com
but we want to use www.trade.example.com as a subdomain for the new store.
thus far, we have been told this may not be possible

I see, have you been able to get in touch directly with a Shopify representative on the matter yet?
yes, they said it may not be possible.
But i have seen some articles saying its possible so thought id ask in the community.

Not 100% sure, but this may be related to the limitations of the Shopify DNS zone configuration editor.
Possibly, if you move your DNS hosting from Shopify to a separate provider, like GoDaddy, you should be able to configure DNS properly.
I may be mistaken, but I had a similar configuration some time ago when Shopify was not providing domain registrations.
