Can not create a list of customers who bought a specific product

Consider the following problem:

You want to create a “Google Customer Match List” that consists of only customers who bought a specific product – There is no way to pull that off…

Lets say our product is named “Widget”

with the ID 0123

and it comes in Blue, Red, Green and Pink

Under ORDERS

there is no filter that lets us create a list of customers who ordered any specific product.

Seems absurd to me… perhaps I am looking in the wrong place?

Currently, I have tried the following:

  • Customers → Filters
= problem is there is no filter for a specific product

  • Orders → All orders → Filters
= problem is there is no filter for a specific product

  • Products → all products - “Our Widget” with ID 0123
= problem here is there is no way to find out which customers ordered any widgets, ever
let alone just the “blue” ones

Requested Solution:

Create a FILTER under CUSTOMERS that lets us export a list of all customers who ordered a specific product

Yes, much needed. If I am selling a certain product and there happens to be a recall on that product, I need to know who purchased it. We may have subscriptions to products and considering a price change, we need to analyze our profit and loss by who has purchased it, also so we can notify them. Last year I sold several product warranties, we want to know who bought it and the dates, it may be time to add another year. I imagine this may also be useful for company takeovers in the event of accidental sales or investigations. Why did such and such company sell 10,000 items that never got delivered? Who did they sell it to? Thanks Shopify for all you do.

You can achieve this under the Customer filter using ‘products_purchased’ criteria. You can select within a date range or all time.
