Can Shopify Partner Accounts sell products or merchandise?

The FAQs for the Partner Program doesnt seem to tackle this.

If a Shopify Partner wants to sell products online like a Merchant, on top of offering services to other merchants, can they do so without having to create another Shopify Account?

Yes, a Shopify Partner can sell products online like a Merchant, on top of offering services to other merchants, without having to create another Shopify account.

Shopify Partners can use their own Shopify account to create a store and sell their products. This allows them to keep all their activities in one place and manage them more easily.

Please keep in mind that if they intend to sell their products under different brands, they should consider creating multiple shops on one account or creating different accounts, so as to ensure that customer data remains separate and compliant with the GDPR or other legislation.

Additionally Shopify partners, who are building and selling apps and themes in Shopify’s App Store or Theme Store, can also use the Partner Dashboard, to promote their own apps and themes, for sales and revenue share.

Thanks! Does this mean our Shopify Partner account can be upgraded to Shopify Plus, instead of Shopify Partner Plus?

We’ve tried doing so, but there seems to be no self-service option for an upgrade, and we were directed to a Sales Rep from Shopify. The Sales Rep said that we can only upgrade to Shopify Partner Plus (upon meeting the criteria), and not Shopify Plus.

  1. Login with your partner account here https://help.shopify.com/en/questions/partners#/login

  2. Once you login you will see option to open a chat support :

  1. Open a Chat with support and inquire about your concerns.
