Can we use Google Custom Labels as Metafields?

I m curious, if we can use Google Custom Labels as a Metafields (if we only need a limited number of fields?)

The maximum unique values per custom label, ie custom label 0, custom label 1, etc.

Is 1000.

And for all 5 custom labels a total of 5000 unique values.

Hi @MelvinAlk ,

Is this what you mean by Google Custom labels? You can definitely use metafields to store custom labels but Google won’t automatically be aware of them because they need to be stored in the Google Ads dashboard somewhere.

With that being said, it looks like the Google Channel in Shopify provides a feature for certain custom labels. Hopefully this helps and provides more context for you!

Yes 'Nick, I m referring to Google Custom Labels. Currently am not using Google Shopping, so planning to use this labels as a “metafields”

The only issue with 2.0 Metafields, is that there is no “free bulk” import or export of spreadsheets (CSV/Excel)

But the product csv is able to bulk import/export customs lables

My guess using this google customs labels the cons are
Not more than 5 Metafields
Not more than 5000 variants/entries per label
Cannot use google shopping
Manually to add codes to liquid to display in product

Thanks for elabaorting a little more @MelvinAlk !

I’m wondering if it’s this feature in the CSV import?

Yes
