Can you operate your Shopify online store with your iPhone or does it need to be an iPad?

You can definitely operate a Shopify store from your mobile device. Shopify offers a mobile app that allows you to manage your store on the go. The app is available for both iOS and Android devices and can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play. The requirements for iOS are version 14 or later and Android - version 8 or later.
Here are some functions you can utilize when using the Shopify Mobile app:
- View and fulfill orders, issue refunds, and communicate with customers.
- Add new products to your store, edit existing products, and manage inventory.
- View and monitor your store’s performance with real-time analytics and sales reports.
- Add new customers, view customer profiles, and communicate with customers.
- Customize your store’s design, update your store’s settings, and manage your payment options.
You can also create an account directly from the Shopify Mobile app. Please see the screenshot below.
For more information on how to use the app and additional features, I’ll share a couple of resources below.
In regard to your question about start-up costs, we offer several pricing plans to fit different business needs and budgets. Our Shopify Basic Plan is $39 USD/month, Shopify Plan is $105 USD/month and the Advanced Plan is $399 USD/month. We also have the Shopify Starter Plan for $5 USD/month where you can sell products through social and messaging apps.
We have also modified the 14-day free trial length for new merchants to 3 days. After the 3-day trial is up, you will be required to select a paid plan to continue your store. In conjunction with the new free trial length, once the 3-day period is over, when you proceed to the pick a plan page, you will be able to select either the Starter, Basic, Shopify or Advanced plans for $1 USD/month for 3 months.

For inventory, the amount of money you need will depend on the type of products you want to sell and the quantity you want to stock.
